An inference is a guess!

When you make an inference, you are making a guess about what you think will happen next!

To make an inference, you need to use what the author tells you, and what you already know!

"Sally sighed when she looked outside. She wanted to play, but it was going to be too wet. She grabbed her umbrella and went out anyway." Question: what is the weather like outside?

The author gave us many clues that we can use to find out what the weather was like! Take two minutes and think of three clues that you read! Write them down in your iwrite book!
