Mood
How the speaker feels about what is being written or the way the thought is being expressed

Indicative Mood
Used to express facts or opinions.
Ex. The balloon is blue.

Interrogative Mood
Used to ask questions
Ex. When does the movie start?

Imperative Mood
Used to make requests or give a command.
Ex. Do not enter.

Subjunctive Mood
is used to express unreal/imaginary/hypothetical conditions, importance, urgency,
wishes, or desire. The subjunctive is usually found in complex sentences.
Ex. I wish I could be a famous singer.

Subjunctive Mood Rules
Rule 1: Can be used with "if" to express a wish, want or desire. Ex. If only I could fly
Rule 2: usually used with “that” when expressing importance, wishes, or urgency. Ex. It is important that you write these down so you can review for the quiz.
Rule 3: remember that the word "that" can be omitted. Ex. Our teacher insists we do our homework.

Conditional Mood
Conditional mood is a form of subjunctive which is created with could or would.
Conditional expresses under which conditions something will happen. It usually uses “IF” with cause and effect.
Ex. If you yawn, I will yawn too.
