Water Fight Checkpoint
You have encountered many new academic words in the second part of Workshop 2.
You can practice the new words by using these words instead of synonyms, or words with similar meanings. For example, instead of saying that sleep is necessary for good health, you could say it is essential.

2
Find the Relationship
Think about the relationship between the words in the first pair. Then complete the analogy with a Target Word. Use the sentence frames to explain your thinking.
3
Practice
•Model your thinking.
I know that dislike (to not like) is the opposite of adore, which means “to like very much.” Likewise, reduce (to make something smaller) is the opposite of increase (to make something bigger). Reduce and increase have the same relationship as dislike and adore, so reduce is the best word to complete the analogy.
You will select the best word and explain your thinking.
