Independent Clause
An independent clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a verb. It is a sentence and makes sense.
Example:
I forgot my homework.
My teeth are white.

Dependent Clause
is a group that contains a subject and a verb. It cannot be a sentence.
Marker Word (because, after, before, since, although, though, whenever, wherever, whether, while, even though, even if, etc.)
Conjunction (but, and , or, nor, yet )
Examples:
Because I forgot my homework, I got sent home.
Since I wash them everyday.

Because it is raining, we have an umbrella.

We have an umbrella because it is raining.

After the race, we went to eat hamburgers.
