2

An ordered pair is a set of numbers (x, y).

In the real world, when "x" is certain number, then "y" will be a certain number, depending upon on the situation.

If "x" is the variable for time, and "y" is the variable for how many laps I run, then (2, 1) might tell you that I ran 1 lap (y) in 2 minutes (x).

3

Multiple Choice

Choose the ordered pair that represents: "I ran 4 laps in 8.5 minutes"

An ordered pair is a set of numbers (x, y).

On the following slides, you will read math problems in English.

For each problem, select the TWO ordered pairs in Math language that match the situation.
