8 Phases of the Moon
What do you notice about the positions of waxing moons versus waning moons?
8
Waxing and Waning
Waxing: 1st half of the moon's orbit as it moves towards a full moon. We see more and more of the lit side of the moon making it appear brighter.
Waning: After a full moon, as the moon moves back to its starting position. We see less and less of the bright face of the moon and it appears to wane or shrink.
