Parts of 3-D figures

  • Face: A flat surface or side of a figure.

  • Edge: The line segment which connects the faces.

  • Vertex: Where edges connect (corners).

  • Apex: The tallest point of a pyramid or cone.

  • Base: A face(s) that is perpendicular to the height of the figure. Bases are connected by rectangles!
