The Lymphatic system

  • This system is very important in helping the body fight infection.

  • Not all animals have a lymphatic system.

  • It works alongside the blood circulatory system to help get rid of toxins.

  • It is made up of a network of lymph vessels, tissues and organs.

  • Lymph is a clear fluid rich in white blood cells, especially lymphocytes.

  • Lymph is formed from blood plasma which is forced out of blood vessels by pressure and moves around tissues until it collects in the lymph vessels.
