Multiplying fractions with unlike numbers!

Remember, when we multiply fractions that do not have a whole number, or any numbers in comon, all we need to do is multiply the two numerators together and then multiply the two denominators together to find our new fraction!

 $\frac{3}{4}\times\frac{4}{5}$  If you are multiplying two fractions together ,such as the one shown, that have two numbers that are the same (4), then you can just cross out the 4's and make your new fraction.

Multiplying a fraction by a whole number!

If you are multiplying a fraction by a whole number, all you need to do is turn the whole number into a fraction. For example, if you have the number 5, all you need to do is make it into a fraction by putting the 5 on top (numerator) and a 1 on the bottom (denominator).
