COMPOUND SENTENCES
A compound sentence is made up of two simple sentences joined by a comma and a connecting word such as and, or, or but.
Example. Ellen talked a lot during the experiment, but George was almost silent.

DEPENDENT AND INDEPENDENT CLAUSES.
