cons

-Students expect a certain degree of instant gratification whenever gamification is not implemented with care.

-Incorporating Gamification into educational environments may be time-consuming .

-Teachers must be careful to monitor the gamification process carefully, as it may not speak to all types of learners. In order to avoid this, traditional education methods should not be abandoned altogether. Rather, the process should be infused partially with gamification to keep students engaged .

-Over the last few years, we've seen a massive up take of social technology.

If the player is too young player might forget that is playing with real life money And not monopoly money.

Ethical considerations

-Balancing Metrics with RealEngagment

"I want the game, and its mechanics ,to help them develop a love for and curiosity about learning ,rather than a !ove for the points or badges "

-Gamification creates competitions

this can be both positive and negative

-One of the biggest on going criticisms of games ,and technology in general ,is that it promotes anti-social behavior and isolates individuals.

-The focus of most new games is in social play .While players may not be interacting face-to-face they are interacting nonetheless.
