Count highest amount first

When counting money with mixed bill amounts (more than one type of bill) start by adding the bigger bills first. In other words add all $10 bills first, all $5 bills next and finally all $1 bills

Start with $10 bills

  • There are 2 $10 Bills

  • $10 + $10 = $20

  • There are 4 $5 bills

  • $5 + $5 + $5 + $5 = $20

  • $1= $1
