Subject-Verb Agreement

  • The subject and verb must work together in a sentence.

  • To make most present tense verbs agree with the singular nouns or he, she, it, add an -s or -es to the verb.

  • If the subject is a plural noun or I, you, we, they, the verb in present tense does not en in -s.

  • Plural subject: Animals talk in some stories.
