Ayat 1-4

  • The four verses contrast four creations of Allah SWT - the sun and the moon, the day and the night. The bright sun makes everything in the earth visible, while the moon follows the sun - by borrowing light from the sun and by rotating on a path along with the earth.

  • They are opposites, yet they are related to each other. Similarly, the day shows the glory of the sun, and the night draws a cover over the daylight. They have two different functions.

Ayat 5 - 6

  • The two Verses ask us to think about the universe and its creator. The verses also ask us to think about the earth in relation to who created it and spread it out. spreading out or expanding The earth means Allah SWT made suitable for living things to inhabit it and survive.

Ayat 7 - 8

  • The verses Remind us of our souls. Allah SWT created the soul and perfected And proportioned it Over the course of time. During this process, Allah SWT gave human beings knowledge, Intelligence, And the freedom to choose between right and wrong.

Ayat 9 - 10

  • A person purifies his soul by practicing goodness and avoiding wickedness. Such a person indeed prospers in this life and in the Hereafter.

  • A person corrupts his soul by adopting wickedness in life. Such a person fails in this life and in the Hereafter.

Ayat 11 - 12

  • The example of the tribe of Thamud is given here. The example shows how an entire nation sometimes fails to follow the divine teachings to purity the souls of each member.

  • The tribe refused and engaged in wicked activities. Their most wicked person came forward to oppose their prophet.

Ayat 13

  • Salih A was the rashly for the tribe of Thamud. He brought an ownerless she-camel as a sign for the tribe. He asked them to let the she - camel graze and drink and not to harm her in any manner.

  • The tribe Refused to obey Salih A. Their activities corrupted their souls. They did not want to be inspired by Salih A.

Ayat 14 - 15

  • The tribe hamstrung the she - camel. This means they cut the back side of the animal’s ankle. When an animal is hamstrung, it cannot stand or walk.

  • A result of this cruel action, Allah SWT sent destruction upon the tribe of Thamud. The tribe was crushed and destroyed and their dwelling were leveled to the ground.

  • Allah SWT did not fear of its consequences.
