You ALREADY know that the subjunctive is used in clauses that follow the verb QUERER because even though you WANT someone to do something, it is not CERTAIN that it will happen.

The information in the clause is not factual.

QUIERO QUE + mis amigos VAYAN a la fiesta. 

Just because you WANT your friends to go to the party, the might not.
