Reciprocal = flipped fraction; Write this down

The reciprocal of  21\frac{2}{1}   is  12\frac{1}{2}  


The reciprocal of  25\frac{2}{5}  is  52\frac{5}{2}  
**We use "reciprocals" to multiply each side to eliminate a fraction**
For example: Solve for x: 
 34x=8\frac{3}{4}x=8       the reciprocal is  43\frac{4}{3}  
 43(34x)=8(43)\frac{4}{3}\left(\frac{3}{4}x\right)=8\left(\frac{4}{3}\right)  the fractions on the L eliminate & multiply on R
 x=323=10.67x=\frac{32}{3}=10.67
