PREPOSITIONAL PHRASES include the preposition and the objects (nouns or pronouns) that follow the preposition. A prepositional phrase includes the preposition, the object of the preposition, and the modifiers of the object (adjectives). Propositional phrases tell when or where something is happening.

  • The stray cat hid under the dumpster. (Where? UNDER the dumpster)

  • Kainalu woke up before his brother. (When? BEFORE his brother)
