What are the signs of a chemical reaction?

There are certain things to look for that indicate a chemical reaction is occurring

3

The 4 Indicators of a Chemical Reaction Are:

  • Bubbles- a gas is being produced

  • Temperature Change- heat is being released or the reaction is getting colder

  • Color Change- the products of the reaction have a different color than the starting reactants.

  • It gets Cloudy- the reaction is producing a solid (called a precipitate) that makes the reaction appear cloudy

4

Do these signs prove a reaction is occurring?
