We are going to define what a "coin" is and the relationship to a dollar.
We will observe unique features on each coin.
You will write notes in your journal, as well as draw each coin.
Once we are complete you will be able to identify each coin and its proper value.

Coin Vocabulary
Circulating coin- a coin that is used in everyday life
Denomination- the different values of money. Pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters.
Mint- a place where coins are made.
Mint mark- a small lettering on a coin telling where the coin was made in the US.
Non- circulating coin- a coin that is not being used.
