In the Sinnoh region, the starters all counter each other both ways.

• Torterra: Grass/Ground

• Infernape: Fire/Fighting

• Empoleon: Water/Steel

• Fire counters grass, which counters water, which counters fire.

• that is kind of obvious

Now what about the other types?

• Ground beats fighting

• fighting beats steel

• Apparently ground also beats steel

• But torterra grass/ground has the worst base stats.

• 
  

Torterra's base stats total to 525, while the others have 530

Torterra can counter both, even with it's lower base stats, it is my favorite out of the 3

Pokemon evolve at certain times...

Starter pokemon generally start at level 5

They evolve at level 16

And then again at level 36

Sometimes it evolves earlier or later

Now to level up pokmeon you can do a few things

• You can battle with them to get exp points

• Or you could level up the friendship to make it do better in battles.

Pokemon's base stats get higher as they evolve.

They can be really low sometimes like shinx. Or have good base stats like luxray.

Other pokemon evolve by...

• Using certain items on them

• trading them to another player

• trading them to another player while holding an item

• Leveling up the friendship

• Those are the other common ways to evolve a pokemon

In the pokemon world there are multiple regions where you go in different games.
