Countable Nouns
Countable Nouns are nouns which can be counted. Some of the words used with countable nouns are: a, an, any, some, many, a few, several, alot, of, plenty of and a small, a large number of.
Singular countable nouns take singular verbs
Plural countable nouns take plural verbs
Example: girl, tree, hat, pencil and pen.

Uncountable Nouns
Uncountable Nouns are nouns which cannot be counted.
Some of the words used with uncountable nouns are: any, some, much, a little, alot of, plenty of, a great deal of, a small and large amount of.
Uncountable Nouns take singular verns only. Absract nouns are considered to be uncountable nouns.
Example: flour, salt, sugar, oil, water, milk and sand
