Let's go over a few natural disasters!
Today we'll be reviewing four, but there are many more types
5
Hurricanes
Hurricanes are large, spiraling tropical storms that can pack wind speeds of over 160 mph and unleash more than 2.4 trillion gallons of rain a day.
6
Earthquakes
Earthquakes are the shaking, rolling, or sudden shock of the earth's surface. They are the Earth's natural means of releasing stress. Earthquakes can be felt over large areas although they usually last less than one minute.
7
Volcanic Eruptions
A volcano is formed when hot molten rock, ash, and gases escape from an opening in the Earth's surface.
As a volcano erupts, it spills lava that flows downslope. Hot ash and gases are thrown into the air.
8
Blizzards
A blizzard is a powerful snowstorm. Low temperatures, strong winds, and large amounts of snow together create this dangerous weather condition.
