Well, before this was a beloved cartoon, it was a popular fairy tale written in the 19th-century. The Brothers Grimm published it in 1812 in the first edition of their collection Grimms' Fairy Tales. Most Great Movies were Books First!

About the Authors

Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, also known as the Brothers Grimm. They were German authors who wrote and collected folktales in the 19th century. “Snow White” is a well-loved tale featuring a beautiful girl and an evil queen. The Brothers Grimm published it in 1812 in the first edition of their collection Grimms' Fairy Tales.
