Lesson Plans

  • You control the pace of your lesson. Lessons allow you to control whether or not to mirror the content displayed on the presenter’s device onto student devices.

  • When applied, this will ensure that all slides and questions appear on student devices at the same time.

  • Everyone progresses at the same pace and you can control whether to pause, move between slides, or stay on the same slide.

  • This is ideal in a remote learning situation where every student gets to see content on their own device.

  • You can also turn this off so that everyone focuses on one single screen.

Lesson Plans

  • There are a number of slide types to choose from in a Lesson.

  • There are a variety of text slides and media slides available in the editor. Just click on ‘Add’ to open the editor and select the slide that you wish to include.

  • Please note that all slides, apart from the Intro slide, can be deleted or rearranged at any point.

  • You can even include images, audio files and embed videos in a lesson. (Audio and video available with Quizizz Super)

Lesson Plans

  • You can also include questions and polls at any point in your Lesson. Use it to gather feedback, check for understanding, or spark discussions during the Lesson.

  • You can include any number of questions in a Lesson.

  • All responses are captured in real-time and you can review results using the leader board screen at the end of the session.

Note - Lessons without a question do not generate reports.

Power Ups

  • Power-ups are single-use abilities designed to increase engagement and participation on Quizizz

  • Power-ups are turned on by default for Live, Team and Homework Games but can be toggled off by the game host when they create the game.

  • Once a student acquires a Power-up, they’ll see a power-up icon at the bottom of their screen and can click on the icon to activate it for a specific question.

  • In most cases, power-ups can only be applied once. Once used, the power-up icon disappears.

  • Note: For now, Power-ups won’t be activated in games with more than 50 players.

Name Factory

  • The Quizizz Name Factory generates names for your students to inspire creativity and avoid wasted class time.

  • Using The Name Factory is optional for students by default, but teachers can make it the only way to pick a game name by toggling the setting on when they start the game.

  • If the setting is toggled on, every student gets three options to choose from at the start of the game.

  • This ensures that there’s enough variety without making it too time-consuming.

  • Each Quizizz name in the Name Factory is a random combination of a famous literary character and an equally beloved (debatable) fruit or vegetable.

Adaptive Question Bank

  • When toggled on, every student attempting the quiz is shown a different set of questions, which changes with each additional attempt.

  • Every attempt, after the first one, showcases unseen questions and ones that students previously got incorrect.

  • As a result, each attempt leads to a unique set of questions and a more meaningful and personalized learning experience for every student.

  • This feature is most effective with larger quizzes as more variety ensures students are exposed to a unique set of questions in each attempt

Adaptive Question Bank

  • Start by choosing the quiz that you want to host. You can either create the quiz yourself, or search for one from the Quizizz library. You can also use the ‘Teleport’ feature to combine multiple quizzes. When using the Adaptive Question Bank setting, larger quizzes (50+ questions) work best

  • Now choose the mode you would like to use. Once you’ve selected the mode, scroll down to the Adaptive Learning section under ‘Settings’ to toggle it on. You can choose the number of questions you want to include in each attempt. 10 is a good default if you are assigning for independent practice, but you can set it to any number based on your requirements.

10

Adaptive Question Bank

  • To understand the feature better, let’s take an example. For instance, let’s assume that 5 students are going to attempt a quiz with 100 questions.

  • With the Adaptive Question Bank setting, every attempt made by a student gives them a different set of questions from the quiz.

  • Each attempt includes a combination of previously unseen questions and questions they got incorrect in their previous attempts.

  • This ensures that every attempt made by a student creates a set of questions so unique to them, that each reattempt is more meaningful.
