Most people (in my experience) only use the multiple choice or checkbox questions. Have seen the other options used before?

Pros to using Quizizz

  • Can be integrated easily with Google Classroom and grades can be automatically uploaded

  • Can be linked directly to Canvas, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and more so that accessing the quiz is easy for students

  • Students see both the question and possible answer choices on their individual devices and on the screen that the teacher presents

  • Questions and quiz be on a timer, self-paced, or instructor-paced

  • Can be set to be anonymous for the screen that all students see

  • Assessment data can easily be downloaded as an excel sheet

8

Cons to using Quizizz

  • Automatically set up to show the leaderboard for the students success rates (can be turned off, though)

  • Some aspects of quiz make it more like a game with things like power-ups, which some students may feel is not fair

  • depending on question format, it may be difficult to determine what students may know or what they are struggling with

  • requires one-to-one devices

Lessons in Quizizz

  • Quizizz now has the option to do lessons in which you can present slides with integrated questions

  • You can integrates video and audio clips into these lessons as well (premium account)
