∥ Define parallel
3
What is a parallelogram?
A parallelogram is a quadrilateral (four-sided) polygon created by 2 pairs of intersecting parallel lines
Vocab breakdown:
Parallelogram is a fusion of parallel and the ending -gram
Parallel - lines that have the same slope in a plane
-gram is a fairly common suffix that usually indicates writing and language (such as program and telegram), or drawing (such as diagram and histogram)
This is NOT to be confused with the measure of mass, gram, that is the root for words like kilogram
