A Day at the Zoo

It was a bright Friday morning. The sunlit clouds drifted across a clear blue sky. Wispy clouds circled around the vivid blue sky. The class of 2 Integrity set off for an excursion at the zoo. We were in high spirits. Our faces broke out in wide, happy smiles.

When we reached the zoo, a zookeeper brought us to the monkeys’ enclosure. He shared with us some facts such as how monkeys climb and hang on trees. We were amazed by the facts. The monkeys were so cute! They were pale brown. We jotted it down on our notebooks. The zookeeper said, “don’t feed the monkeys.’’ We nodded and followed his instructions.

When the zookeeper was not looking, John secretly fed some doughnuts and bananas to the monkeys. Suddenly, he lost his balance and fell into the water. The poor boy was on tenterhooks. Our jaws dropped open and our hearts skipped a beat. Without hesitation the zookeeper stepped gingerly in the water. John was pulled out of the water. John was reprimanded for his acts and he apologised. He was ashamed of his mischief. John learned a valuable lesson. We were told to obey the zoo’s rules.
