BLOCKING

• The Movement plan! The paths of the actors!

• The director arranges actors in a scene so they know where they are supposed to stand, sit, move, or dance on the stage.

CHEATING OUT

• Keeping an open position that turns the front of your body toward the audience

UPSTAGING

• Being in a position on the stage where you are in front of another actor (could be the one you’re speaking to or another important character in the scene)

• Causes the actor to be out of sight of the audience You can prevent upstaging by cheating out!
