  • yo fui, tú fuiste, él/ella/usted fue, nosotros fuimos, vosotros fuistes, ellos/ellas/ustedes fueron

  • Ir (to go) in the preterite means ¨went¨

  • Ser (to be) in the preterite means ¨was¨ or ¨were¨

Gramática: Negative tú commands

Always start with ¨No...¨

  • Take the yo form of the verb (this includes stem-changers and yo-gos)

  • Drop the -o

  • Add -es to -AR verbs and -as to -ER/-IR verbs (opposite endings)

  • Pronouns go between no and the command (no te acuestes)

  • Always use te with reflexive verbs

  • ser, ir, dar, and estar are irregulars that you must memorize!

  • -CAR, -GAR, -ZAR verbs have spelling changes!
