  • There are 3 types of verbs: 

  • ALL verbs end in either -AR, -ER, OR -IR when in the infinitive

  • What is an infinitive?

  • A verb before it has been conjugated. It always ends in -AR, -ER or -IR and means "to ____" in English.

  • An infinitive does not tell us who does the action or when

  • English examples: to talk, to walk, to run, to play, to dance

  • Spanish examples: hablar, vivir, comer, beber, jugar, escribir

  • Step 2: Drop the -AR, -ER or -IR ending of the verb

  • Step 3: Add the appropriate ending
