Boys and Girls, Welcome to the Norris Flying School Bus! Today, we are going to take a special trip to a beautiful castle. We are going to be flying 9 miles straight up into the air in order to reach secret cloud castle island.
In order to reach our first destination, we will need to travel 60 miles per hour through the clouds. Let's see how well you know your measurements. How many yards will we travel straight up into the air? (Hint: Reread the first paragraph to figure out what needs to be converted if you are stuck!)

Flying through clouds is SO beautiful!

Let's take some time to explore the island! We first need to cross into the Great Swan Cloud lake. Can you picture how beautiful it must be? The Norris Flying School Bus is turning into a boat - how cool is that?! We need to steer quietly so we don't wake up the swans in the lake.
The lake is 152 yards long. How many feet of water are we going to cross?
7
Enjoy exploring the lake Norris Flying School Bus crew!

It looks like we're getting close to the castle!
Oh no! It looks like there are guards in front of the castle! We need to hide so we can come up with a solid plan of how to get inside cloud castle!
Let's crawl inside this cave. We will need to crawl 6 feet forward, and then 9 yards sideways in order to all fit inside the cave opening. How many inches will we crawl total?
10
Whew! We can relax now, look at this beautiful cave!

Poll
Alright crew, now that we have a safe spot to plan, lets map out our route so we can make it inside the castle. Lets take a look at our map and get some measurements.
We are 50 yards away from the castle. We have a couple of options for our plan to get inside the castle without the guards knowing. Should we...
Find a window at the top of the castle to crawl through
Dig a tunnel to the castle dungeon

Now it is your turn to find a solution with the route you chose! Make sure to specific which route you chose. If the castle is 60 yards away, I want you to figure out how many feet that is first.
If you chose the window, the window is about 7 yards above the ground. How many inches is the window above the ground?
If you chose the tunnel, we will need to build a tunnel that is 4,680 inches long. How many feet will the tunnel be?
14
Fantastic job crew! We made it inside with no one noticing! Let's take time to explore the castle a bit.

If you could build a castle, what is one item you would like to see inside of it? Tell me how large the item is in feet, and convert it to inches in your response!

Unfortunately boys and girls, it is time for us to head back home to Norris. We need to make our way back to the clouds in order to fly back home! Before we head home, Cloud King would like to visit with us for a bit. Oh no, hopefully he isn't upset!
The King loved that we wanted to come see the castle, and next time said to just ask! He gave us a magical key so that next time we can come in the back door instead of trying to sneak around. We are exactly 9,402 feet away from the bus. How many yards will it take us to hike back to the bus?
17
After a long hike, we are now smooth sailing through the clouds. Great job crew! Time to rest....
18
I hope you had fun coming along on the cloud castle trip! See you next time!
