Tip: Cari kalimat positif yang maknanya sama dengan negative expression yang diucapkan orang ke-2.

Contoh: didn't drive slowly ("tidak" mengemudi dengan lambat) = drove rather quickly (mengemudi dengan cepat)

Tip: Cari kalimat positif yang maknanya sama dengan double negative expression yang diucapkan orang ke-2.

Contoh: isn't impossible (tidak mustahil) = might (mungkin)

SKILL 6: LISTEN FOR ALMOST NEGATIVE EXPRESSIONS

Tip: Saat mendengar almost negative expressions dari ucapan orang ke-2, cari jawaban yang menunjukkan makna: (1) almost none = "setidaknya, ada 1 hal yang ada/ exist" atau (2) almost never = "setidaknya ada 1 hal yang pernah dikerjakan".

Contoh: barely enough money = paid the bill but has no money left (setidaknya uang itu cukup untuk 1 hal "bayar tagihan", meskipun setelahnya tidak ada yang tersisa.)

SKILL 7: LISTEN FOR NEGATIVES WITH COMPARATIVES

Tip: Saat mendengar orang ke-2 mengucapkan ungkapan yang merupakan kombinasi negative dan comparative, cari jawaban yang mengandung makna "superlative" (yang paling...).

Contoh: No one is more beautiful than she is. (Tidak ada yang lebih cantik dari dia) = She is the most beautiful. (Dia "yang paling cantik.")
