  • Area of a cirlce:  πr2\pi r^2  = π42\pi4^2  = 50.27

  • TWO circles so 50.27 x 2 = 100.54

  • Area of a rectangle = base x height. Height is 10 inches, base is circumference of circle

  • circumference =  πd\pi d  =  π8\pi8  =25.13

  • area of rectangle = 25.3 x 10 = 251.33

  • Total = 251.33 + 100.54 = 351.87
