Embedded Clause
An embedded clause is another way of using a subordinate clause by dropping it into the middle of a sentence. This time you need two commas, one at either side of the clause.
Max, battling against the wind and rain, searched for his rabbit
Max, worrying, because it was getting dark, searched for the rabbit
An embedded clause does not make sense on it's own. You can't just say: battling against the wind and rain, you need the main clasue as well
