Two more useful pronoun words that are placed before the verb in French

Le pronom complément y

• Y replaces a noun that is preceded with à, au, aux etc...or a preposition of place such as dans, en, sur, sous

• Y is sort of an adverbial pronoun meaning "there"

• Y is placed directly before the verb which has logical rapport with the pronoun.

• In the passé composé y is placed directly before the auxiliary verb "avoir" or "être"

• In the imperative form, y is placed immediately after the verb with a hyphen.

• Habitez-vous aux Etats-Unis? Oui j'y habite.

• Allez-vouz voir le film Kong vs Godzilla au Cinéma? Oui, j'aime y aller.

• Etes-vous en classe? Oui, j'y suis.
