How to use them?

Zero conditional : We use the zero conditional to talk about things that are generally true, especially for laws and rules.

If you listen, you learn

If I drink too much coffee, I can't sleep at night.

If you heat ice , it melts

If you are talking , I can't concentrate

We can use negatives and unless (if not) in the zero conditional

If you don't pay attention, you make mistakes= Unless you pay attention , you make mistakes.

If you don't tell him stories , he doesn't sleep =

Unless you tell him stories he doesn't sleep

First Conditional: to talk about possible solutions in the future

If you try hard , you will succeed

If I need help , I will call you

We can use negatives and unless (if not) in the firstconditional

You won't lose any weight if you don't start eating healthier food. =

You won't lose any weight unless you start eating healthier food.
