• Give you an opportunity to apply everything you've learned this year!

Types of SC Ready Questions

There are 5 types of SC Ready Questions

• Selected-response items

• Evidence-based selected response

• Multi-select items

• Technology enhanced items

• Text-dependent analysis

Selected response

These are multiple choice items. You selected ONE correct answer.

Selected response example

In paragraph 9, how does the word "duration" impact meaning?

a. by describing the types of cars

b. by describing the length of time the ride lasts

c. by describing the size of the tracks

d. by describing the position of the riders

Multiple Choice

For a selected response question (multiple choice), how many answer choices do you select?

• One

• Two

• Three

• As many correct answers there are.

Evidence-based selected response

These questions have 2 PARTS!

Part A) A normal multiple choice question

Part B) A question that asks you about the evidence that supports your answer.

Fill in the Blank

An evidence-based selected response question has two parts:

Part A) A normal multiple choice question

Technology enhanced items

These questions might ask you to use your tech tools to highlight, drag & drop, etc.

Text-dependent analysis

You will be given a text to read, and a prompt to answer. You will write an essay answering this prompt.

Text dependent analysis example

The drama focuses on events in the life of Florence Nightingale. Write an essay analyzing how the three-scene structure of the drama emphasizes certain characteristics of Florence. Use evidence from the drama to support your response.

Taking the test

• You will take the test at school, but everything will be done on the computer.

• Testing will be in mid-May

• There is no time limit for the tests. The most important thing is that you do your BEST and take your TIME.
