2
natural resource
Trees, oil, and metals are all examples of natural resources. A natural resource is any material in nature that people use and value.
3
Deforestation
Deforestation the action of clearing a wide area of trees.
4
Reforestation
Reforestation (occasionally, Reafforestation) is the natural or intentional restocking of existing forests and woodlands (forestation) that have been depleted, usually through deforestation, but also after clearcutting. Reforestation can be used to undo and rectify the effects of deforestation and improve the quality of human life by absorbing pollution and dust from the air,
5
Fossil fuels
Fossil fuels are made from decomposing plants and animals. These fuels are found in the Earth’s crust and contain carbon and hydrogen, which can be burned for energy. Coal , oil , and natural gas are examples of fossil fuels.
6
Hydroelectricity
The flow of water produces hydroelectricity. Falling water produces hydroelectric power. The theory is to build a dam on a large river that has a large drop in elevation (there are not many hydroelectric plants in Kansas or Florida). The dam stores lots of water behind it in the reservoir.
7
Nuclear energy
Nuclear energy is the energy in the nucleus, or core, of an atom. Atom s are tiny units that make up all matter in the universe, and energy is what holds the nucleus together. There is a huge amount of energy in an atom's dense nucleus.
8
Tesla The electric car company
Launched in 2008, the Roadster unveiled Tesla’s cutting-edge battery technology and electric powertrain. From there, Tesla designed the world’s first ever premium all-electric sedan from the ground up – Model S – which has become the best car in its class in every category. Combining safety, performance, and efficiency, …

Are we losing our drinking water?
Almost 60 percent of America’s drinking water originates from national forests — mainly the rivers and streams that run through them. Scientists predict that, by 2071, nearly half of the freshwater basins in the U.S. may not be able to meet the monthly demand for water, partly due to climate change-related deforestation and forest degradation.
27
Fire and climate
Climate change is fueling extreme droughts, violent storms and severe wildfires. Trees that aren’t killed by these threats are weakened. This leaves them vulnerable to disease and pests. A century of suppression of natural fires has left many forests overgrown and unhealthy. In some places fire-dependent forests have been replaced by entirely different ecosystems.
