Defining relative clause

• We use DEFINING RELATIVE CLAUSE to talk about IMPORTANT INFORMATION because readers do not know who / what we are referring to.

• Sentence 1: Jeffery wrote a love song yesterday.

  Sentence 2: The love song was dedicated to his favorite teacher.

• e.g. Jeffery wrote a love song which was dedicated to his favourite teacher.

How to play?

• Mr Chiu will give the leaders of the teams a word (people / thing / time / place).

• The leaders will go back to their groups and describe the word using relative clauses without saying the word

• e.g. It is a person who ....

• Other group members will guess the word and submit the answer on iPad.
