​What is Preference?

Preference dalam bahasa Inggris merupakan ungkapan pilihan atau pendapat yang lebih disukai seseorang tentang benda, kegiatan, orang atau yang lainnya. 
Preference dapat diungkapkan melalui beberapa kata, seperti kata ini: prefer, would rather, would prefer, dan like

​1. Menggunakan kata kerja "prefer" (lebih suka)

Rumus kalimat 1: 
Subject + prefer + to infinitive

Contoh:

He prefers to play basketball than soccer. 
(Dia lebih suka bermain bola basket daripada sepak bola.)

Subject + prefer + noun + to + noun

Contoh:
I prefer coffee to tea. 
(Aku lebih suka kopi daripada teh.)

Subject + prefer + verb-ing + to + verb-ing

Contoh:

She prefers reading books to watching TV. 
(Dia lebih suka membaca buku daripada menonton TV.)

​2. Menggunakan kata kerja “would rather” (lebih memilih)

Rumus kalimat 1: 
Subject + would rather + bare infinitive (kata kerja tanpa to) 

Contoh:

Shofia would rather eat now. 
(Shofia lebih memilih makan sekarang.)

​3. Menggunakan kata kerja “would rather” (lebih memilih)

Rumus kalimat 2: 
Subject + would rather + bare infinitive + noun + than + noun

Contoh:

She would rather eat pizza than sushi. 
(Dia lebih memilih makan pizza daripada sushi.)

​2. Menggunakan kata kerja “would rather” (lebih memilih)

Rumus kalimat 3: 
Subject + would rather + bare infinitive + than + bare infinitive

Contoh:

They would rather stay than go. 
(Mereka lebih memilih tinggal daripada pergi.)

​3. Menggunakan kata kerja “would prefer” (lebih memilih)

Rumus kalimat 1: 
Subject + would prefer + to infinitive + rather than + bare infinitive

Contoh:

I would prefer to stay rather than go to the party 
(saya lebih memilih tinggal di rumah daripada pergi ke pesta.)

​3. Menggunakan kata kerja “would prefer” (lebih memilih)

Rumus kalimat 2: 
Subject + would prefer + to infinitive + noun + rather than + noun

Contoh:

He would prefer to watch a comedy show rather than a horror movie
(Dia lebih memilih menonton pertunjukan komedi daripada pergi film horor.)

​4. Menggunakan kata kerja “like - better than” (lebih suka)

Rumus kalimat 1: 
Subject + like + noun + better than + noun

Contoh:

Tomy likes sandwiches better than pizza.
(Tomy lebih suka sandwich daripada pizza.)

​4. Menggunakan kata kerja “like - better than” (lebih suka)

Rumus kalimat 2: 
Subject + like + Ving + better than + Ving

Contoh:

She likes swimming better than jogging.
(Tomy lebih suka sandwich daripada pizza.)
