Court and Equipment

  • 1. Wiffle ball – hollow plastic ball that is about the size of a baseball.

  • 2. Wiffleball bat – hard, plastic bat 32 inches long and 1.25 inches in diameter

  • 3. 4 Bases – a Wiffleball diamond has four bases placed in a square (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Home)

Wiffleball Rules

  • Same as baseball/kickball rules for the most part!

  • Remember batting team provides pitcher; objective is to get your teammate to hit the ball. (like in kickball)

Pitching

  • When you're up to bat you need to be aware of:

  • Strikeouts, if you swing three times in a row = YOU'RE OUT!

  • If pitched over middle of base it is a STRIKE

  • If pitched outside of base it's a BALLI

  • If pitched and tipped by bat its a FOUL

Batting

  • Batter is out if the fielding team catches a pop-fly.

  • Automatic OUT if batter throws bat.

  • Upcoming batters need to stay away from home base during play

Fielding

  • Fielding team should spread out in the field and cover all positions.

  • Fielding team must provide a catcher, the catcher should stand back by the backstop. Their purpose is to make plays at the plate and throw back missed pitches.
