Introduction
The introduction sets the tone for the rest of your story, paper, or report. The introduction will tell readers what your topic is. A good introduction can get readers interested in what you have to say. A bad introduction can lose the reader's attention. One way to ease readers into your introduction is to use introductory statements. These statements can ask questions, state opinions, present arguments, tell a story, or give background information.

Conclusion
The conclusion brings everything in your writing to a natural end. Your conclusion will wrap up your paper without offering any new information. A good conclusion will tie everything from the introduction and body together. The conclusion will get readers to think about what you have said. Concluding statements work the same way introductory statements do. Concluding statements can restate your main point, give ways to solve problems, tell the future, or include a quotation.
