Preparation
Before the starting of the inspection, you should always have your format ready, your inspection cheat sheet open and also your UCMJ file open. As well as having all of these essential documents open, you should always get the correct AGSU's (Army Green Service Uniform), correct covers (hat) and always wear a realistic skin tone and face.
Faces that include any unrealistic setting is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
After acquiring all of the essentials, head over to the host and SFL in RANK ORDER.
4
Falling in
Upon instruction from the PC (Platoon Commander), you are to walk along side the boarder of the box and fall in. Important things to note about falling in are;
Assure you are well spaced with the people on either side of you
Assure that you are aligned properly
Assure that you enter attention when you fall in
Assure there are only 9 people per line
While in formation, you are expected to remain silent. Do not speak to anyone unless you are directly spoken to.
5
Open ranks
Opening ranks is simply just moving forward in an organised fashion. When instructed, you simply get out of attention, move forward, right dress and align with those in your line. For those who are in the 2nd line or back, you are to maintain a gap large enough for someone to fit while being in right dress.
Key things to note about opening ranks;
-Do no move in attention
-When right dressing, assure that your arm is not going into someone shoulder
-Always align with your fellows
6
Stationary commands
Here are a list of the commands and the binds that are used during an inspection.
-Attention [Control H]
-Parade rest [Control K]
-Right dress [Control L]
-Salute [Control J]
-Leave animation [Control]
Understanding these are essential for understanding how to participate in an inspection

Inspection
The initial interaction between the IO (Inspecting Officer) and you is important. The IO is looking for 3 key things.
-Your format [For enlisted the format to use is "G’day, (rank) (name), 101st Airborne Division, reporting for inspection, sir/ma’am/rank." For Officers, "G’day, (rank) (name), 101st Airborne Division, (position), reporting for inspection, sir/ma’am/rank."
-They then look for the way you present yourself(not being in attention/inspecting your uniform and character appearance)
- Lastly, the look at the way you address them. A majority of the time when people are inspected by female Officers, the are addressed incorrectly.
8
Inspection (continued)
The other part of the inspection is the knowledge part. This section can be VERY EASY if you have all given documents open.
-Inspection Cheat Sheet
-UCMJ
-Study Guide (rarely used, still important)
Having all of these open will allow you do answer most, if not all, the questions that the IO ask. A few tips to help you navigate each document:
-If you are able, Push control F to bring up a search bar. By typing in relevant words, you can easily find the answer.
-If that feature is unavailable, simply read the context page. This will show which information is on what page.
9
Close ranks
Similar to the Open ranks, you are just simply moving forward. Closing the gap between your line and the line in front. Always assure that your line is aligned in a tidy manner. If there is a gap in front of you, move into that position. This can only be done on close ranks. Do not move into that position until the march command is given by the PC.
Key things to note about close ranks:
-Never move in attention.
-Only assume someone's spot in front if you are directly behind them and when the march command is given.
-Once you have closed ranks, enter attention again.
10
Falling out
Upon command from the PC, you are to take a slight step back, right face and proceed to fall out and head to the bleachers. When falling out, the first line goes first from right to left. After that, the second line and so forth. When falling out and arriving to the bleachers, sit down filling from the first row and the most further seat.
Key things to note about falling out:
-Do not move in attention. Push control before moving.
-Ensure you are taking a step back first before walking. Do not just turn and walk.
-When sitting, sit and DO NOT SPEAK
11
Summary
To highlight some key information, here are the expectations.
-As reapeated through out this presentation, you are not to move in attention.
-Do not speak in attention.
-Listen to your PC.
-Have all the necessary information open.
