Potassium is an important nutrient for our bodies. It supports muscle strength, fluid balance, and energy levels, among other things. The amount of potassium in a medium-sized banana is between 0.4 gram and 0.5 gram of potassium.

The information says that the amount of potassium in a medium-sized banana is between 0.4 gram and 0.5 gram. To write 0.4 as a decimal in hundredths, write 0.40. To write 0.5 as a decimal in hundredths, write 0.50. The number 0.45 is between 0.40 and 0.50.

What is a hundreth?

• A hundredth is 1 of 100 equal-sized parts.

• In a decimal, the first digit to the right of the decimal point is the number of tenths.

• The second digit to the right is the number of hundredths.
