Queen Victoria ruled for so long that she had a whole period named after her known as THE VICTORIAN PERIOD

• Queen Victoria ruled longer than any other British king or queen.She ruled for over 63 years

• She was crowned Queen in 1837 when she was just 18 years of age

• She ruled until she died in 1901 ,aged 81

Early life

• Princess Victoria was born on 24th May 1819

• Her uncle was King William IV. He had no children so Victoria was told she was heir to the throne at the age 10

• She had a lonely childhood and her only friend was her strict German gorveness

Marriage

• Victoria married Prince Albert in 1840 and they had nine children

• When her children grew up ,many of them were married off to other royal families in Europe

• Prince Albert died in 1861,Victoria was so upset that she made black clothes for the rest of her life
