Comparisons
Using an adjective or a verb to tell two or more things apart.
In English:
My car is much slower than this one.
We're fast, but Olivia is faster.
Most people aren't as aware of their surroundings as you.

We use "más" or "menos" with an adjective and "que" for than
Some adjectives have their own forms: mejor (better) peor (worse) mayor (bigger/older) menor (smaller/younger).
The adjectives above don't use "más" or "menos."
All adjectives need to match the number and gender of the noun being described in the phrase (usually the subject).
"tan" is used to mean "as" when saying something is equal to something else.

Not all comparative phrases has both nouns in them. If the context has already established what you're talking about, you don't need to repeat yourself.
"Nike has pretty good shoes. Adidas is better though."

Comparisons of number
Instead of using "que" use "de" for "more than" when numbers are involved.
Tenemos más de quince sabores en la heladería.
Use "que" if it's a comparison of quantity without numbers.
Tenemos más sabores que la otra heladería.

Superlatives
A superlative is used to say that something is the most or least of an adjective.
In English:
I'm the best tennis player in this room.
The least interesting part of cooking is the sauces.

Superlatives en español
Use "más" and "menos" for "most" and "least."
Some adjectives have their own forms: mejor (best) peor (worst) mayor (largest/oldest) menor (smallest/youngest)
The above adjectives don't use "más" or "menos" and become plural if the subject is plural.

Note that the superlative in the above sentences uses the article "the."
Because we don't have different endings for comparative and superlative adjectives in Spanish (-er, -est in English), we primarily differentiate the two based on the use of articles.
