Math Performance Tasks Prep
2
What is a Performance Test?
Well...
3
Performance Tests
Are usually complex, multi-step problems.
There are usually only a few problems, but they take longer to complete.
These tasks are looking for what you understand about math, so explaining your thinking is very important!
4
Performance task tests
Usually have a set of related tasks.
For instance there might be a set of data for you to collect, then you may need to order it, then create a line plot, then answer questions about the shape and range of the data.
You always need to write out all of the information work that you do for a performance task!
Here's an example:

Multiple Choice
Charles wants to purchase presents for his daughter’s class. There are 25 kids in the class. He decided to purchase dolls for the girls and toy cars for the boys. The table below shows the prices for each toy. Charles has a budget of $400.
If d represents the number of dolls and c represents the number of cars, which equation represents the number of each type of toy that Charles needs to purchase?
d + c = 25
d + c = 400
4.5d + 7c = 25
4.5d + 7c = 400

Multiple Choice
