As the population of Texas has grown, its diversity has increased. People from all around the world, have moved into Texas. As a result, parts of the state display an amazing degree of cultural diversity. For example, more than 90 languages are spoken on a daily basis.

The result of so diverse a population has been the creation of a blended Texas culture. The various groups of people who live in the state have elements of cultures of other people.

Tejano music, also known as Tex-Mex music, is a popular music style fusing Mexican and U.S. influences. It mixes Mexican-Spanish vocal traditions and Czech and German dance tunes and rhythms. The music is traditionally played by small groups featuring accordion and guitar.
