Comparative adjectives
We use comparative adjectives to talk about differences between two things or people.
Hulk is stronger than Spiderman.

We use than after the adjective and before the second thing or person.
Tony Stak is richer than Peter Parker.

Short comparative adjectives
With short adjectives we add -er
old - older
tall - taller
With adjectives that end in e. we add -r.
close + r - closer
wide +r - wider
With short adjectives ending in a vowel plus a consonant we double the final consonant and add -er.
big + ger - bigger
hot + ter - hotter
With adjectives ending -y , we drop the y and add -ier.
happy - happier
heavy - heavier
