Today we are learning about what you should think when you are solving a math problem because....
What you think, is what you do
There are strategies that you can try even if you don't know what to do

What should you think?
First, read the problem and identify the key information bu underlining.
Second try to get a picture in your head of what is happening.
If you can't picture it, draw it on your paper.
Based upon what is happening decide if you are multiplying, dividing, subtracting, and adding.
Once you complete the problem ask yourself, "Is my answer reasonable?"

Every time you have to complete an operation there is a step.
The operations are add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Converting is also a step. Convert means convert a fraction, percent, decimal.
Reducing is also a step. Reducing a fraction means you are changing to it's most simple form.
